Terms and Conditions
Thanks you for your intention to join Smart Home Tuition as a private tutor. Smart Home Tuition is a professional tuition agency providing personalized home tutor matching service to families in Singapore.
To register as a private home tutor with Smart Home Tuition is FREE of charge. Before submitting your online tutor registration form, please read the Terms and Conditions carefully.
Tutors who sign up with Smart Home Tuition are bound by the following terms and conditions:
Tutor Registration Requirements
- Registration with Smart Home Tuition is FREE of charge.
- You must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore permanent resident to eligible for registration.
- You must be at least 18 years of age at the point of registration.
- You should have attained a minimum GCE “O” Level pass or its equivalent, and good grade in the subject you wish to teach.
- Smart Home Tuition will verified your education qualifications upon receive your registration request.
- You are required to send in a soft copy of your certificates for validation.
- On the first lesson, you must produce all essential documents (original or Certified True Copies) to parents and students to certify your academic qualification, credentials and NRIC.
- You should affirm that all information provided by you upon registration is true and accurate.
- Any tutor found to misrepresent his or her qualifications will be blacklisted. They also will be denied for all existing and future assignment placements with Smart Home Tuition. Any outstanding tuition fees will be forfeited.
- Smart Home Tuition reserves its rights to reject an application subjected, but not limited to, the following conditions:
- Incomplete Registration;
- Insufficient Details;
- Dubious Information Entry;
- Fictitious Experience Claims
Commission
- Smart Home Tuition will only charge one-off 50% of your first month's tuition fee as commission.
- And this will be collect after you have completed half of the first month lesson.
- Smart Home Tuition will collect the commission directly from parents.
- Smart Home Tuition will mail a tax invoice to you upon received the payment by parents. You are advised to keep this tax invoice for reference purpose.
- For common understanding (avoidance of doubts), one month is calculated as 4 weeks.
Cancellation of Assignment
- It is your responsibilities to inform Smart Home Tuition at the earliest possible should you have any problem to start the agreed lesson.
- In the event where you decided to cancel the assignment before the first lesson that you have agreed to take up, you should inform Smart Home Tuition 48 hours before the first lesson.
- If you cancel an assignment without notify SMART Home Tuition or with insufficient notice, you will be liable for 50% of 1 month lesson fee. This may also cause you be denied for future assignments.
Termination of Assignment
- In the event where the student prematurely terminates the assignment during the first month, you will receive 50% of payment for all your service hours.
- If you terminated the assignment within a month, you will be liable for the 50% of the tuition fees.
- It is your responsibilities to inform Smart Home Tuition at the earliest possible should you decide to terminate the assignment.
- However, if the reason for the student's termination is due to your misconduct or behavioral problem as a tutor (e.g. dishonesty, misrepresent your qualification, you are chronically late, did not attend lesson without any valid explanation), all your outstanding fees will be forfeited.
Disclaimer
- The agency will not be held liable or responsible for civil proceedings and/or criminal prosecution on any acts of dishonesty, misconduct, and/or misdeeds on part of the tutors that may cause any inconveniences, disturbances, offences and/or any actions on part of the tutors.
- In the cases whereby disputes arise, the Smart Home Tuition is not obliged to intervene. However, the Smart Home Tuition may arrange a change of tutors as an act of goodwill.
- The agency reserves the right in its sole discretion to change the terms and conditions at anytime without notice.
